Accounting Technician – Williamson County Sheriff’s Office

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is currently hiring for a full-time Accounting Technician.

Job Summary: Coordinate and provide support to Supervisors when approving and posting employee time and payroll data. May compute employees’ time worked, production, and compensation, and provide assistance to County Payroll resolving payroll issues.  Reconcile invoices, purchase orders, accounts payable and general ledger issues.

Job Duties and Tasks:

Timekeeping:

Provide support and direction to Front line supervisors who compile employee time and payroll data from time sheets and other records.
Review time sheets, work schedules and other information in order to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records as needed or required

Assist County Payroll Department to resolve any questions concerning employee setup & payroll records.
Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors.
Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.

Provide information to employees/managers on payroll matters regarding hours submitted/paid.
Perform review of completed time sheets showing employees’ arrival/departure times.
Post relevant work hours to client files in order to bill clients properly.

Compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and submit them to appropriate departments as needed or required.

Accounting:

Proven experience in bank reconciliations, maintaining general books of accounts including accounts receivable and accounts payable, purchasing procedures, inventory reports and various other financial reports.

Applicants must have extensive experience in processing employee payroll, knowledge in computers, record keeping, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Applicants must be highly organized, detail oriented, able to multi task, self-motivated and be able to complete projects timely.

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate a high level of teamwork with coworkers and supervisors.
