Education and Experience: Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to three years of full-time aircraft scheduling or related operations work; qualifying full-time aircraft scheduling or closely related work may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.

Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Career Service positions.

Job Overview: Summary: Under general supervision, is responsible for aircraft scheduling work of average difficulty; and performs related work as required.

Distinguishing Features: The employee in this class is responsible for the traffic flow and security of all state aircraft. An employee in this class serves “on call”.
Work Activities: 1. Schedules flights of state and chartered aircraft providing air transportation as requested by all departments of state government on a priority basis.

2. Develops guidelines for the acceptance or rejection of flight requests and establishes procedures for accurate, timely, and auditable accounts of aircraft stock procurement.

3. Coordinates and monitors air crew training sessions and schedules requested flight proficiency checks and pilot physicals.

4. Revises the operations manual as requested.

5. Operates aircraft computers and aircraft plotters.
